This is a photo of me climbing up the mast of Katana, my sailboat. I am some 70 plus feet off the deck.
Why am I there? It is quiet and beautiful and you can see forever. It is so strange to look down at the boat and the crew who seem so small.
We were under the spinnaker with Kevin Miller driving the boat, doing about 10 knots of boat speed when I went up. I was in a harness and hoisted. I was only a bit nervous at the top, which is "bendy," but I trusted my guys to take care of me.
