My dad says life is not always fair. I was let go (fired) by a company after 11+ years of being a top employee. It wasn't fair or nice, how the company got rid of me or the other co-workers who were great employees.
I had to get back up and look for a new job. I had to face reality. In real life there are bills to pay. Looking for something different was good! It pushed me out of my comfort zone and in the end, it all worked out.
