Today I took the time and energy (being chronically ill, that is a huge deal) to make it to my 7-year-old granddaughter's soccer game. As soon as she saw me setting up my chair on the sidelines, she raced over to give me a huge hug and kiss and said, "Thank you for coming, Grandma! I'm so happy you're here!"
I commend my daughter-in-law and son for teaching their daughter gratitude and awareness of others, for it does not just get passed on via the bloodstream but must be taught.
