What Do You Do For a Living?

Dr. Laura:

My soon-to-be-graduating high school senior came home from her last day of school, and I was HERE at home in the role that I have had the privilege of being in for the past 17 years.  I was able to sit down with her and reminisce on her journey thus far in school and in life.  I wanted to thank you for making my job title of Stay-at-Home Mom all these years a title that I am proud to say when people ask me "What do you do for a living?"

I was here for my daughter every day after school from kindergarten until this morning - her final day in high school.  I cherish all the field trips, all the volunteering at school, and the countless hours I have spent in the parent "pick up" loop, listening to your wisdom while I waited for her.  She will be 18 years old this week, and although I have shed some tears today, I know that I haven't missed a single moment along her journey, and I would not have traded that experience for the world.  Thank you, Dr. Laura!
