August 2, 2013Why Women Cheat
Dear Dr. Laura,
I believe there are 2 combined reasons why women cheat.
The first is a mistaken idea of their self worth. I think there is something missing here. Years ago, when I was pregnant with my third child, my husband cheated on me with a married woman who had her own children. On top of that she was from our church and I had the mistaken idea she was a friend. At the time, I was baffled for a hundred reasons. These were some of them: Even pregnant, I was way more attractive than she, more organized, and more sensual and funny. I believe, with her warped little Jr. High level of maturity, she thought she would feel better about herself if she could take him from me and our children.
The second reason I think women cheat is plain old selfishness. That old "I want what I want, when I want it" attitude is promoted by a degrading society and is plain evil. Evil is ancient and designed to ruin us and our families, to make us all miserable.
I am grateful there is a God and a way to be lifted from this misery!
Thank you for your goodness and help for the last 20+ years. I'm not sure how many it has been. I just remember that my children were off doing something, I had a pile of ironing to do and I turned on the radio looking for something interesting to occupy my mind as I did this task. I kept turning the dial and heard some woman talking to a male who was putting himself through college by making porn. When I heard your response to him, I thought, "I love this woman, she spoke to him in such a manner that would elevate his character and turn him into a real man if he follows her advice....WHO IS SHE???" I managed to find out who you were and have learned so much from you, some of which has benefited my husband of 38 years, 4 children, daughters- and son-in-laws, and grandchildren. You have been quoted at my choir rehearsals as well.
I love you!!!
A.
