My greatest realization hit me the other day. Dr. Laura was talking to a caller about the caller's mother. The caller had a bad childhood. What Dr. Laura asked the caller turned on a big universal light for me. 

The caller said she felt she was never good enough in her mother's eyes. Here is what Dr. Laura said to the caller and to me, "Is that a measure of you or your mother? You should pity your mother. " I have always measured myself by what my mother thought about me. And now, I have stopped measuring myself with my mother's negative words.
