September 30, 2013Making Positive Statements
Dr. Laura-
The other day a step-mother called concerned her older son was constantly barraging the younger with negative, critical remarks. A friend of mine used to make her girls overcome every negative statement by immediately making 3 positive ones. This makes a person mindful and aware of what they are doing and hopefully break a bad habit sooner rather than later.
An apology might well be added, if the critical remark is directed at a person.
All negativity should be confronted with each family member for a more pleasant atmosphere.
Blessings,
Cindy
